The Green Prix

September 23, 2009

With the popularity of the Prius firmly established and the full court press on for Greener Automobiles it makes you wonder, What are they going to do about NASCAR and racing in general? Well it appears that Green racing is beginning to find it’s niche with  motorbikes  (Yes, MOTORBIKES!) now in full Grand Prix mode!  “In less than five months we took a suggestion and turned it into a motorcycle. A motorcycle that is unlike anything I have ever ridden. No gas, no oil, no clutch, no need to even warm up the engine- no engine. Gone is the age old ritual of rhythmical throttle blips that can audible seduce a motorcyclist into a pre ride trance- now your bike waits for you. Enter what may be the next big thing in motorcycles; invisible, nearly silent and magically linear power,”  Michael Czysz

Ooooh! Aaaah! Fast! Electric?!!

Ooooh! Aaaah! Fast! Electric?!!

And cars? Several companies have expressed interest and will be showing at the same event. With money being pumped into the system perhaps we’ll be seeing more style and performance with the green benefits as well and as NASCAR and pro racing have spun off improvements  so too will their green equivalent.

Break out the Lemon Pledge!

Break out the Lemon Pledge!

Sydney Australia usually brings to mind brisk ocean breezes and sunshine but something has tweaked that popular image somewhat recently.  A rare dust storm has blanketed the entire area with sand shutting down and redirecting flights in the area for the duration. This is the worst dust storm within memory although there have been others which were historically amazing in their intensity.

Some of the photos documenting this phenomenon look like they could have been taken on Mars! A pool of photographers have begun to collect their pictures under the name, “Red Sydney Project” here:
